In this article, Hongliang Xin (associate professor at Virginia Tech), Chen Ling (senior principal research scientist at Toyota), and their colleagues discuss the critical challenges in developing high-performance electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), particularly by emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in materials exploration and discovery.
