摘要
This chapter discusses the various two-dimensional nanomaterials in detail. An account of their various properties, synthesis methods, functionalization methods and applications will be given in this chapter. 2D materials are the materials in which the layers of atoms are stacked on top of each other like sheets. Various synthesis methods of these materials such as chemical and physical methods will also be discussed. These materials possess unique optical, electrical and catalytic activity. These properties have been exploited in various applications such as sensing, catalysis and in energy generation. 2D materials encompasses a large family of materials which includes graphene family, oxide family and metal dichalcogenides. The use of these materials for different applications will be highlighted. More emphasis will be given to the biological applications of these materials.
