Hydrogels

This section provides definitions of networks and hydrogels terms and describes the chemical preparation of hydrogels. A number of physicochemical methods of characterization of hydrogels for biomedical applications is given. Then, molecular theories for the analysis of the three-dimensional structure and hydrogel behavior are enumerated and methods for determination of mesh size parameters are discussed. Finally, we conclude with brief examples of applications of hydrogels in the biomedical field.
