摘要
The new generation of accurate, fast, cost-effective, and user-friendly glucose biosensors are highly demanded for point-of-care glucose monitoring. The research is mostly focused on development of biocompatible, wearable, and noninvasive glucose monitoring technologies with improved sensing performance. Although the electrochemical transducer systems are still often used, optical glucose detection tools with nanopatterned sensing platforms are also being developed for sensitive and selective glucose recognition. In this chapter, we introduce the principles of electrochemical and optical glucose detection and cover the recent glucose biosensing technologies focusing on the fabrication of the sensing platform, nanomaterials involved, and performance in real medium such as serum, sweat, saliva, and urine in detail.
