摘要
Paramylon is the storage form of energy in Euglena gracilis, and it is a polysaccharide of glucan in which glucan is joined by β (1, 3) linkage and forms a linear chain. The high bioactive activity of this polysaccharide has significant positive effects on the immune system. Paramylon functions as an elicitor by changing the physiological reactions and hormone levels in plants. Paramylon can improve plant resistance capacity to biotic and abiotic stress, such as drought. One of the key issues for the future is creating an economy that allows the mass production of crop plants. Moreover, to remove potentially hazardous residues, the use of synthetic chemicals (fertilizers and pesticides) needs to be replaced in modern agriculture systems, as the demand for organic food is also continuously rising. Paramylon is an excellent substitute for fertilizers as it can be used as a biostimulant. It increases the yield and quality of crop plants as well as their tolerance and resistance to a wide range of abiotic conditions, particularly salt, drought, nutrient deficiencies, high temperatures, etc.
