Proactive personality and work volition among Chinese undergraduates: The chain mediation model testing of career exploration and career decision self-efficacy

The Psychology of Working Theory was developed for complement existing vocational theories, and the work volition is a very important substance. Based on the theory of PWT, the present paper intends to construct a multi-mediation model between proactive personality, career exploration, career decision self-efficacy, and work volition with 866 samples from Chinese undergraduates at two-time nodes. The analysis results revealed that a proactive personality has lots of significantly good function on job exploration, career decision self-efficacy, and work volition. Accordingly, a proactive personality can indirectly influence work volition by career exploration and career decision self-efficacy. More importantly, a proactive personality can influence work volition by multi-mediation career exploration in tandem with career decision self-efficacy. Finally, we sum up the conclusions and the insufficient of this study, and discuss the viable research directions of the venture capital in the future.
