摘要
Abstract Although carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is known as the primary greenhouse gas, it is also considered by chemists as the ideal one‐carbon (C1) feedstock for producing valuable fine chemicals due to its abundant, inexpensive, nontoxic, and renewable properties. Nevertheless, the use of CO 2 in transition metal‐catalyzed CH carboxylation of arenes is a double challenge due to the inertness of both CO 2 and aryl CH bond. Herein, important achievements until September of 2021 in the field of transition metal‐catalyzed CH carboxylation of (hetero)arenes with CO 2 will be briefly discussed.
