摘要
The capital and operational expenditures and the energy efficiency of the conventional and chlorine processes of aluminum production are compared. A comprehensive analysis demonstrates that the chlorine process under modern conditions has the potentials for development as efficient production of high-purity aluminum in moderate amounts rather than as a large scale technology and an alternative to the Bayer–Hall—Heroult cycle.
