Introduction Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is an autoimmune blistering disease characterized by autoantibodies against hemidesmosomal proteins in the basal membrane zone. The presence of a high incidence of thrombotic events has led to the identification of a hypercoagulable state in BP patients.
