摘要
With the rising organic solid waste generation, how to manage such waste became a critical challenge. Composting is an optimal technique for its high efficiency and environmentally friendliness. It is precisely fit for the recent global topics of “zero-carbon emission” and “healthy soil”. However, how to design a modern composting system for high-quality compost needs to be resolved for both engineers and scientists. Therefore, composting system components, composting facility design, compost maturity, and novel composting are described in this chapter. It also aims to provide a reference to upgrading composting for higher quality compost products.
