Electrochemical C(sp3)–C(sp3) cross-dehydrogenative coupling: enabling access to 9-substituted fluorescent acridanes

A straightforward strategy for direct access to C9-functionalized fluorescent N -alkyl-acridanes in good to excellent yields has been established via a sustainable electrochemical C(sp 3 )–C(sp 3 ) cross-dehydrogenative coupling between acridanes and benzo fused lactones.
