Nanozymes have gained significant attention in numerous therapeutic applications as a class of nanomaterials with high substrate selectivity, catalytic efficiency, and recovery efficiency. Recently many nanozyme-assisted techniques for various disease control have been extensively developed, utilizing their excellent stability, low cost, and natural enzyme-like properties. Periodontal infection, are one of the most common oral illnesses, presents a worldwide risk to human well-being and existing therapy choices are not sufficient to deal with many clinical issues. Nanozymes, due to their remarkable antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity, can be regularly used in detection and therapy for several periodontal diseases. This review evaluates current developments in the field of nanozyme research, summarises it, and suggests potential paths for future periodontal disease treatment approaches.
