摘要
We propose five-layer bi-metallic prism-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) based sensor and optimize its performance in terms of achieving maximum sensitivity using the instantaneous Poynting vector (IPV) analysis in two different configurations: a thin layer of high index dielectric introduced between the two metal films (categorized as waveguide coupled SPR) and a thin layer of high index dielectric introduced beneath the two adjacent metal layers and before the bio-molecule layer (categorized as coupled plasmon-waveguide resonance).
