Abstract The minimum concentration of mercury required for Nessler's reaction with ammonia approaches 86% of the stoichiometric value. When the mercury concentration is low, nitrogen can be determined in small amounts in the ultraviolet region. The maximum accuracy and working range are shown for 350-600 mµ.
