Effect of Rapid Rollover on Pneumothorax Rate after Percutaneous CT-Guided Lung Biopsy: A Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Trial

Percutaneous computed tomography (CT)-guided lung biopsy is a frequently performed procedure for diagnosing malignancies and pulmonary infections. Pneumothorax is the most common complication of CT-guided lung biopsy, with a risk of 12%–45%; the risk of chest tube insertion is reportedly 2%–15% (1,2). The incidence of pneumothorax could be influenced by multiple factors, including underlying lung diseases such as emphysema, number of passages through pleura and fissures, and lesion location (3).
