The Relationship Between Interleukin-10 and Diseases

Interleukin (IL)-10 is a class of important cytokine with anti-inflammatory properties.IL-10 can inhibit a variety of immune cells.The physiological role of this cytokine lies in the prevention and limitation of over whelming immune reactions and the resulting tissue damage. At the same time,IL-10 strengthens the function of “scavenger” and contributes to the induction of tolerance.These effects of IL-10 have close relationship with diseases.Thus,to study the molecular mechanisms and biological characteristics of IL-10 is important for the immunotherapy of IL-10 related diseases.
