Objective To isolate the chemical constituents from the seeds of Lepidium apetalum and identify their structures. Methods The powdered seeds of L.apetalum were extracted with 70% ethanol and purified by polyamide, silica gel,RP-C18 and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography.Chemical structures were identified by MS,1D,and 2D NMR experiments. Results Eleven compounds were isolated from the seeds of L.apetalum, they are quercetin-3-O-[2-O-(6-O-E-sinapoyl)-β-D-glucopymosyl]-β-D-glucopyranoside(1),isorhamnetin-3-O[2-O-(6-O-E-sinapoyl)-β-D-glucopymosyl]-β-D-glucopyranoside(2),quercetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(3),quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(4),isorhamnetin-3-Oβ-D-glucopyranoside(5),isorhamnetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(6),kaempferol-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7),quercetin(8),β-sitosterol(9),daucosterol(10),and sucrose(11).Conclusion All these compounds are isolated from the seeds of L.apetalum firstly.Compounds 1 and 2 are isolated from the plants of Lepidium L.and Cruciferae plants for the first time, respectively.
