Rationale: Current data suggest that the interaction between dietary fibers (DF) with the gut microbiota induces beneficial physiological effects for health. In this context, chitin-glucan (CG), a novel insoluble DF improves metabolic disorders associated with obesity in mice, but its effect on gut microbiota has never been evaluated in humans.
