Recently, we have read with great interest the published paper by Magdalena et al. [ [1] Holzknecht M. Tiller C. Reindl M. et al. C-reactive protein velocity predicts microvascular pathology after acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction[J]. Int. J. In Magdalena et al.'s study, they found the association of C-reactive protein velocity (CRPv) with microvascular obstruction (MVO) in patients with STEMI treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), indicating that CRP played a critical role in MVO. Thus, downregulation of CRP maybe a beneficially therapeutic target in the treatment of MVO. However, the potential molecular mechanisms of CRP in regulation of MVO remain unclear.
