摘要
Exploring new semiconductor-based materials with a wide range of light absorption, appropriate redox potentials, and high stability for efficient photocatalysis still call for long-standing efforts. Owing to diversified composition, unique crystal structure, intensive visible light absorption, suitable band structure, and superior stability, Bi-based layered perovskite oxyhalides have attracted tremendous attention and shown huge potential in energy catalysis. Herein, this brief review first introduces the structure, classification, and property of Bi-based layered perovskite oxyhalides. Then, their promising applications in energy harvesting and conversion are overviewed, including photocatalytic water splitting, CO 2 reduction, contaminants removal and organic synthesis, and piezo-photocatalytic reactive oxygen species production and oxidation coupling of benzylamine. Finally, the current challenges and future directions for the development of Bi-based layered perovskite oxyhalides for energy catalysis are proposed. This review is expected to advance the flourishing development of Bi-based layered perovskite oxyhalides in energy harvesting and conversion.
