Achieving high quantum efficiency with short carrier lifetime

In a recent publication in Angewandte Chemie, Li, Domen, and colleagues elucidate the mechanisms underlying high quantum efficiency by examining the SrTiO₃:Al photocatalyst carrier dynamics through a photoluminescence study. They established efficient photocatalyst design principles applicable to water splitting, dye-sensitized solar cells, and other fields.
