The safe and stable operation of hydropower units is the key to realize the effective support of hydropower units to the new power grid. At present, the research on unit vibration mainly focuses on electromagnetic vibration, and there is a lack of systematic review on vibration caused by hydraulic and mechanical factors. Therefore, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive review by systematically sorting out the characteristics and suppression methods of unit system vibration. Firstly, it is classified according to the vibration source, and the generation mechanism of hydraulic vibration and mechanical vibration is analyzed respectively. And the multi-dimensional comparison of different vibration sources is made, and the suppression measures are discussed. Secondly, the current methods for the measurement and suppression of hydraulic vibration and mechanical vibration are reviewed. Finally, the research status and future development direction of vibration and stability are summarized.
