The impact of the implementation of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative on the economy and well-being of the participating countries

Considering the important position of Azerbaijan in the “One Belt, One Road” initiative (BRI), the issue of the effectiveness of our country’s investments within this initiative is of great importance. On the other hand, given the complexity of evaluating the effectiveness of public infrastructure projects, the article examines the research conducted on this initiative and the consequences of future projects. At the same time, a classification of such effects is proposed. Two effects of infrastructure projects, the ultimate goal of which is to increase the welfare of the population – a direct impact on households and an impact on the welfare of the population through improving business efficiency. Hypotheses are put forward to explain some of the effects.
