Abstract The study compared the diagnostic performance of two shear-wave elastography techniques, elastography point quantification (ElastPQ) and 2-D shear-wave elastography by General Electric (2-D-SWE.GE), for the non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis in a cohort of patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, using transient elastography (TE) as the reference method. There was no significant difference between the feasibility rates of TE, ElastPQ and 2-D-SWE.GE (p = 0.507). A good correlation was found between the liver stiffness (LS) values obtained using the two elastographic methods (r = 0.78).
