General and precise carbon confinement of functional nanostructures derived from assembled metal–phenolic networks for enhanced lithium storage

A general and programmable strategy has been developed to precisely construct carbon-confined nanostructures via metal–phenolic network assembly, which then displayed excellent lithium storage.
