摘要
Present work describes machinability of lead free brass in high speed micro turning. Micro turning has been performed with cutting speed and chip load under minimum quantity lubrication. The surface topography, burr formation, chip formation, and tool wear have been investigated. Additionally, statistical model has been developed to evaluate the contribution of the process parameters on average surface roughness, peak-to-valley height, and average burr height. This study revealed that smoother surface finish has been achieved at higher cutting speed with reduced peak-to-valley height and burr height. Additionally, elevated chip breaking and flank wear have been found at high cutting speed.
