Efficacy and safety of tezepelumab in patients with uncontrolled disease while receiving maintenance therapy for moderate or severe asthma

The Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines recommend stepwise changes in treatment intensity, including inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) dose, to achieve disease control in patients with asthma.1 The GINA treatment for moderate asthma includes maintenance therapy of medium-dose ICS plus a long-acting β2 agonist (LABA) or other controller(s), while treatment for severe asthma includes maintenance therapy of high-dose ICS plus a LABA or other controller(s) and/or maintenance oral corticosteroids (OCS).
