Abstract. Inflammatory periodontal diseases are socially significant diseases of the oral cavity, because they are on a third place of the frequency of seeking therapeutic dental care. The success of the treatment of chronic generalized periodontitis is assessed by the duration of remission of the disease. In this regard, the improvement of the algorithm of the treatment of chronic generalized periodontitis is an urgent task of modern dentistry. The purpose of the study is to identify the methods of physiotherapy in the complex treatment of mild chronic generalized periodontitis, which will contribute to the achievement of the longest remission of the disease. Material and methods. We observed 204 patients 30-50 years old of both sexes with a diagnosis of mild chronic generalized periodontitis, who were divided into 6 groups depending on the prescribed treatment. Patients underwent a survey, an objective examination, including an assessment of the following periodontal indices – periodontal self-assessment integrative index and gingival sulcus bleeding index. Results and discussion. There was found that exacerbation of chronic generalized periodontitis of mild severity occurs in a month in those patients who did not receive physiotherapy, after 3 months in those patients who received physiotherapy by one method (ascorbic acid electrophoresis or magnetotherapy, or the use of darsonvalisation), and after 6 months – in those patients who were treated using a combination of physiotherapeutic methods (ascorbic acid electrophoresis and darsonvalisation or ascorbic acid electrophoresis and magnetotherapy). Conclusion: the combination of physiotherapeutic methods in the complex treatment of chronic generalized periodontitis of mild severity allows achieving the longest remission.
