Advances on artificial cultured technology of seahorses(Hippocampus spp.)

Seahorse(sHippocampus spp.)are highly unusual marine fishes that have very high medicinal and ornamental value. Many of them turn into endangered species for the overexploitation,incidental bycatch and habitat loss.Aquaculture has been proposed as one solution to address the trade and the restoration of natural resources.The development of aquaculture was restricted for lots of issues such as the high breeding cost and low survival rates.This article is aimed at review historical and current information on the artificial cultured technology of seahorses,in hopes that provide theoretical basis for the development of artificial cultured technology.
