摘要
Refining and petrochemicals are the industries where zeolites are most frequently used for adsorption and catalysis.This chapter traces the evolution of refining and petrochemicals and discusses the place of zeolites in this industry. It also discusses the place occupied by zeolites among catalysts and adsorbents used in refining and petrochemicals along with some possible potential application for the future. Refining schemes are considerably evolving. These schemes continue to change to adapt to numerous constraints, to have greater respect for the environment, and to minimize refining costs. Zeolite achievements can occur in a wide variety of domains, affecting not only the major processes of hydrorefining and conversion but also smaller capacity and more specialized processes. Some of the opportunities for zeolites include hydrocracking (HDC), aliphatic alkylation, isomerization of paraffins, and hydrotreatments.
