摘要
Rosmarinic acid is a hydroxycinnamic acid with a wide range of pharmacological activities and well-established cardioprotective, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, and neuroprotective properties. However, its potential use as natural therapeutic source is hindered by its limited availability by several routes. Technological strategies have been implemented to RA in order to overcome its limitations and provide better administration and availability. In this context, this review aims to describe the routes used for RA administration, the factors that could be responsible for its low availability, and the technological strategies that have been investigated for its delivery and their main performances.
