摘要
Organizations that are actively pursuing social media opportunities to communicate, collaborate, and build relationships should consider reviewing how social media might best be leveraged by the organizations. This commentary explores the potential influence of social media on human resources management (HRM), organizational culture, and employee engagement. An overview of potential policies and procedures related to social media is presented, alongside the role of social media in communication, engagement, and recruitment. Analysis of an established social media policy at a school district offers an example of the need to evolve HRM policies within an organization. Finally, this commentary merges practice and perspective with a discussion of HRM in the current social media era.
