Retrieval of SST in the East China Sea with MODIS remote sensing data

This paper introduces the characteristics of MODIS and the algorithm for retrieval of sea surface temperature(SST) with MODIS data.The retrieval of SST in 2003 and 2004 has been calculated with SeaDAS software.The results show that the mean error is 0.23℃,the standard error is 0.29℃ and the maximum error is 0.5℃ between the retrieved SST and the in-situ data.The paper analyses the variation of the SST at long.124°E and lat.29°30′N in four months,and monthly SST changes in the year 2004.The result also shows that the monthly retrieved SST changes and distribution are consistent with the real status.
