Tributyl(difluoromethyl)stannane has now been used for the selective and efficient direct ipso difluoromethylation of aryl iodides, heterocyclic iodides, and β-styryl halides (see scheme). The straightforward preparation of the difluoromethylating reagent makes this approach particularly valuable.
