摘要
Enhanced catalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction was recently found in Ni/Fe (oxy)hydroxide heterostructures. However, due to the structural and morphological complexities, the material design in this system is not yet established. Herein, we succeeded in obtaining strong synergetic coupling effects from a simple Ni(OH)2/FeOOH bilayer structure fabricated by a facile two-step electrodeposition method. Optimizing the deposition duration that yields full coverage of the Ni(OH)2 thin layer on the FeOOH nanomesh afforded an overpotential of 213 mV at 10 mA cm−2 with high catalytic stability of 97% after 12 h of operation.
