摘要
Ceramic-based solid-state electrolytes possess some beneficial intrinsic properties such as nonflammability, large mechanical strength, a wide electrochemical stability window, and so forth. Therefore, they have become promising candidates with incomparable superiorities such as safety and service life for the development of next-generation advanced lithium ion batteries. In this chapter, four typical classes of ceramic-based solid-state electrolytes—including perovskite, NASICON-like, LISICON-like, and garnet-type inorganic compounds—will be introduced one by one. Their discovery and development, basic chemical composition, crystalline structure, ionic conductivity, and relevant Li+ diffusion mechanism are focused on and described in detail. In the end, the challenges and future perspectives on the general issues of these ceramic-based solid-state electrolytes are summarized and compared in order to promote their practical applications in advanced solid-state batteries.
