Research on Technique of Image Edge Detection

Edge detection is a very important part in image processing,which impacts on image analysis to the back.The Roberts operator,Prewitt operator,Sobel operator,LOG operator and Canny operator are introduced the performance and characteristics are analysed.Using Matlab for algorithm simulation,and test results are analyzed and compared.Canny edge operator has best level of edge linking,clear details and very comprehensive outline of the edge extraction.
