摘要
The safety of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is one of the main factors affecting the greening and electrification process of the civil aviation industry. For civil aircraft, they face a wide range of temperature and pressure environments during flight, which puts higher requirements on the safety and reliability of onboard equipment. In order to study the safety of transportation and application of LIBs in the field of civil aviation, scholars have conducted considerable research on the thermal safety (TS) of LIBs in low-temperature and low-pressure environments. However, there is a lack of review and outlook for these works. In this paper, the studies on the TS of LIBs in the aviation low-pressure and low-temperature environments are reviewed from the following aspects. Firstly, the application status of LIBs in the aviation field is introduced. Secondly, the thermal runaway (TR) and disaster causing mechanism of LIBs in normal environment are sorted out. Subsequently, the TR and propagation characteristics of the fresh LIBs and aged LIBs in low-pressure environment are analyzed. Then, the TS of LIBs in low-temperature environment is summarized. Finally, the research directions on the safety of aviation LIBs are prospected.
