Intercalation of the niobium-diselenide layer structure by first-row transition metals

The systems MxNbSe2 (where M = Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) were prepared. It appeared that the limit of solid solution was reached at x ≈ 13. Crystallographic ordering and changes in the c-axis of NbSe2 were observed. Unit cell parameters and crystallographic orderings are compared with those observed in analogous NbS2 systems.
