Study of CaCO<sub>3</sub> Whiskers: Preparation and Applicability in Construction Materials

As a new type of fibrous material, CaCO 3 whisker has played an increasingly important role in the fields of instrumentation, polymerscience and artificial bones. In order to give full play to CaCO 3 whisker’s novel micro structure, excellent mechanical properties and stability, we initially applies it to advanced cement based construction materials. The preparation methods, characterization of CaCO 3 whisker and its applicability in advanced construction materials were studied thoroughly, based on the latest literatures and our newest research works.
