摘要
District heating systems distribute thermal energy from a centralized source to residential and commercial buildings through a network of pipes to provide space heating and/or hot water. These systems are increasingly being upgraded and reconsidered globally due to the potential to provide low-emissions heat products. To date, nuclear power is used in district heating in multiple countries and is looked to as an option for future reductions in air pollution and carbon emissions. This article provides an overview of district heating systems, a brief history of their development, the current status of deployment, and the role of nuclear reactors.
