Objective
To investigate the procedure and clinical application value of hepatic artery embolization for hepatic hemangioma patients.
Methods
The clinical data of 62 patients with hepatic hemangioma diagnosed in Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from January 2013 to December 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent hepatic artery embolization interventional therapy for hepatic hemangioma. The change in lesion diameter before and after treatment, and improvement in clinical symptoms were compared. And the occurrence of complications was analyzed.
Results
The maximum diameter of the lesions during 3 months to 12 months after surgery was significantly smaller than that before surgery (P<0.05). The clinical symptoms of upper abdominal discomfort, abdominal mass, pain and nausea and vomiting were alleviated after treatment (P<0.05). The adverse reaction rate after embolization treatment was 11.29%, and the adverse symptoms were alleviated after symptomatic treatment.
Conclusions
Hepatic artery embolization can achieve good therapeutic effects in patients with hepatic hemangioma. Hepatic artery embolization is also a safe, effective and invasive treatment method. It is worthy of promotion in treatment for patients with hepatic hemangioma.
