Significant research findings and commercial applications have emerged in areas such as intelligent diagnosis of multimodal orthodontic data, orthodontic treatment decision-making, automated generation of digital treatment plans, and remote intelligent monitoring. However, in the development and application of AI software, it is imperative to address issues related to clinical risks, target populations, and compliance with medical device software regulations. This article analyzes and summarizes the applications and challenges of AI in clear aligner orthodontic diagnosis, treatment, and production processes.
