摘要
Atomically thin 2D layered materials are of recent interest due to their excellent electrical, thermal, mechanical, and optical properties which do not exist in their bulk counterparts. 2D materials such as graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN), and lately phosphorene have attracted a great deal of attention for the development of various electronic components. The utilization of such 2D materials for the fabrication of field effect transistors (FETs) and heterostructures has led to some promising and exciting technologies for nanoelectronics, multifunctional sensors, photodetectors, and bio and chemical sensors. The present book chapter provides detailed understanding of these various 2D materials, their basic electronic properties, and their integration on different flexible substrates for sensing and bioanalytical applications.
