Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists Decrease Medical and Surgical Complications in Morbidly Obese Patients Undergoing Primary TKA

Weight optimization methods in morbidly obese patients with a body mass index (BMI) of ≥40 kg/m2 undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) have shown mixed results. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of perioperative use of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) in patients with a BMI of ≥40 kg/m2 undergoing primary TKA.
