Action is needed to prevent further increase in cancer cases

A leading cancer research charity says that the forthcoming UN summit on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is a once in a generation opportunity to avoid a public health disaster, warning that a failure to develop robust global and national policies to reduce NCDs will lead to millions of preventable deaths. New estimates from the World Cancer Research Fund show that around 2.8 million cancer cases a year are linked to diet, physical activity, and weight.
