摘要
To this day only a single enzyme that introduces fluorine into organic molecules could be identified. Due to this lack of naturally occurring chiral organofluorine compounds, the development of catalytic, enantioselective fluorination methods is of particular interest. During the past two decades, tremendous progress has been made in this field and asymmetric fluorination, and it has become one of the highlight topics in the area of catalysis. This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive summary, not only including early examples of catalytic enantioselective fluorination but also covering the most recent advances that rely on completely new reactivity concepts, such as transition metal catalysis and chrial anion phase-transfer catalysis.
