其它 | Wealth and poverty are key drivers of child health in the US, with consequences that reverberate across the lifecourse1; with this in mind, it is time we advocate for tax policy as health policy. The COVID-19 pandemic–era 2021 child tax credit expansion (eCTC) was one of the most successful antipoverty initiatives, associated with a 40% reduction in child poverty.2 Through this policy, the eCTC was increased from $2000 up to $3600 per child, partially distributed through monthly advanced payments, and made fully refundable. Here, we amalgamate evidence connecting the eCTC to improved health for children and their caregivers. |
