Introduction: The presence of vulnerable plaques has been observed to be associated with both coronary plaque phenotype and coronary inflammation. Currently, the imaging features that can predict the rupture of an atheromatous plaque that can trigger an acute coronary syndrome (ACS) are not well-defined. The fat Attenuation Index (FAI), clinical risk factors and atherosclerotic plaque morphology are used to assess the risk of major cardiovascular events in CariHeart Risk, a new coronary computer angiography (CCTA) -assessed parameter. This study aims to identify CCTA features associated with the risk of ACS and predict plaque rupture, by assessing the changes in plaque phenotype and inflammation in patients who underwent serial CCTA imaging.
