摘要
In this paper, we propose a hybrid multiplexing technique based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and polarization division multiplexing (PDM). The proposed system includes four WDM subsystems of twenty users. Then, each WDM subsystem is identified by a specific polarization (0°, 45°, 90° and 135°), respectively. This approch increases the number of users up to eighty. The aim of this work is to achieve high data rates such as 1 Gbit/s peer user (80 Gbit/s in total), 2.5 Gbit/s peer user (200 Gbit/s in total) and 5 Gbit/s peer user (400 Gbit/s in total) but without exeeding a BER of 10 −9 .
